Important Information About Winter Arrival and Departure

Our hotel is accessible only by the Schönleitenbahn and on skis

Located at 1,804 meters above sea level, the Berghotel Seidl-Alm is one of the highest-altitude guesthouses in the Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang Ski Circus.

Surrounded by an impressive mountain backdrop, our guests enjoy a unique mountain experience right in the heart of the Alps. In winter, the hotel is accessible exclusively via the Schönleiten gondola and directly on skis—plunging you right into the heart of the skiing fun and far away from everyday life.

Due to our unique location in the middle of the ski area, we ask for your understanding that dogs are not permitted in our hotel. For safety reasons, walking on the ski slopes is not permitted.

Please also note that our hotel is not suitable in winter for guests with limited mobility or for young children who cannot yet ski, as access is only possible via the Schönleiten gondola and on skis.

The last available ascent in winter is from the valley to the mountain at 3:30 p.m.; after that, our hotel is no longer accessible.

Traveling by Car

Please drive your car to the Schönleitenbahn valley station and unload your luggage.

Then park your car in the parking lot specifically marked “Berghotel Seidl-Alm and Schönleitenhütte,” as the other large parking lots are all reserved for day visitors only.

Address for your GPS for the parking lot

(about 150 meters from the Schönleitenbahn):
“Jausern No. 692, 5753 Saalbach.” Just search for “Landhaus Seidl” in “Google Maps ©”

PLEASE NOTE

On the day of arrival, you may take your luggage up on the Schönleitenbahn starting at 1:00 p.m. (not possible before then); on the day of departure, please drop off your luggage at the front desk by 9:00 a.m. at the latest.

A valid ski pass for the Schönleitenbahn is required

Between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., you can use your ski pass—valid starting the next morning—to take the Schönleitenbahn to the summit.

Early Arrival

If you plan to arrive early, you must purchase a one-day ski pass and leave your luggage in the luggage cart at the mountain station (PLEASE NOTE: No liability is assumed; the area is not monitored).

Ski Downhill Run to the Hotel

From the top station of the “SCHÖNLEITENBAHN,” you can then ski down to the Berghotel Seidl-Alm (about 800 m).

Luggage Transport

Please use the entrance at the valley station that is specifically marked for this purpose and take the lift up to the mountain station with your luggage.
Once there, place your luggage in the designated storage area so it can be transported to the hotel, and then ski to the hotel.
Please carry cash or valuables with you personally to the hotel or the Schanzerhütte; unfortunately, we cannot accept any liability for cash or valuables (cell phones, glasses, etc.)
that are transported from the lift to the hotel or the Schanzerhütte or back.

Please also note that your luggage will arrive at the hotel by 6:00 p.m. at the latest on the day of arrival (though it usually arrives earlier). If you plan to go skiing on the day of arrival, you are, of course, welcome to leave a small bag or backpack containing regular shoes or slippers at the front desk during the day.

On the day of departure

On the day of your departure, please bring your luggage to the front desk. From there, it will be transported to the Schönleitenbahn and conveniently taken down to the valley by train.

In the meantime, you can enjoy one last run on the slopes, then pick up your car at the parking lot and load your luggage back into your vehicle at the Schönleiten valley station no earlier than 10:00 a.m.

Delayed Arrival / Cancellation of the Schönleitenbahn / Weather Conditions

We ask for your understanding: We will not provide any compensation—neither financial nor material—for any additional costs incurred due to late arrival, lift closures, etc.!
